Blogging From My Blackberry!
Wow! This is very exciting. I am officially able to blog from my phone. Now I can keep everyone up to date with us easily, quickly and conveniently!
Please start praying now for my oldest and youngest sons, Noah and Josiah, who have to get their tonsils taken out next month. Noah's surgery is scheduled for Feb. 10th and Josiah will have his as soon as Noah is fully recovered.
They are actually having the procedure done for 2 seperate reasons. We found out that Noah suffers from chronic tonsilitis, which means that infection and inflamation never completely go away. Josiah's tonsils are so large that they obstruct his airway, causing him to have slight sleep apnea and loud snoring at night. The best thing for the both of them is to have that tissue removed.
Although Jonah's tonsils are on the larger scale, he still has enough space to breathe normally and doesn't snore abnormally loud, which is good. Now everything about Anna is small so no need to worry about her having this type of problem!
What I thought was interesting was how the ENT Dr. explained the reasons for getting a tonsilectomy. I've heard so many times in the past that there was a tonsilectomy "fad" back in the 70's where they were routinely occurring whether tonsils were infectious or not. Then there was a "silence" in the procedure where doctors did not operate but encouraged keeping tonsils in for reasons of immunity. After some extensive research was done since then, tonsils are removed only when they do more harm than good, as in the case of my two boys. Even though tonsils help with immunity, the dr.told us that there are many other tissues in the ear, nose and throat area that battle infection the way tonsils do. Interesting!
